Sporting Lisbon have officially announced the signing of Moroccan teenager Moncef Zekri, bringing the highly rated left-back from Belgian club KV Mechelen during the summer transfer window.
The 17-year-old has signed a contract running until 2029, with Sporting setting his release clause at €80 million, highlighting the club’s confidence in his potential and long-term development.
A Rapid Rise in Belgium
Zekri came through the youth ranks at KV Mechelen before making his senior debut at just 16 years old.
Despite his young age, the Moroccan defender made 20 appearances for the club’s first team in the Belgian league, gaining valuable experience in professional football.
