Ismael Saibari is ready to begin a new chapter at one of European football’s biggest clubs.

The Morocco international joined Bayern Munich from PSV Eindhoven this summer, signing a contract that runs until 2031, and says the German champions' footballing identity played a major role in his decision.

A Style That Suits Saibari

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Saibari explained that Bayern's approach under head coach Vincent Kompany immediately appealed to him.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Their style of play suits me. They’ve given me the confidence that I can improve here,” Saibari said.

The midfielder was particularly impressed by the intensity Bayern have displayed since Kompany took charge.

“I like this style of play, and I’m looking forward to the new task,” he added.

A Playmaker With Versatility

Saibari sees himself primarily as a number 10, but his ability to operate across several positions gives Bayern another valuable attacking option.

“My favorite position is number 10, everyone knows that. But I can play in several positions,” he explained.

The Moroccan can also operate from the wings or in a deeper midfield role, allowing him to adapt to different tactical demands and combinations.

Bayern Saw Something Special

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl revealed that the club's interest in Saibari intensified after facing him in the Champions League.

The German giants defeated PSV in January, but Saibari's performance left a lasting impression.

“He caused problems again and again with his pace and versatility. He’s got something special,” Eberl said.

That versatility ultimately helped convince Bayern that the Morocco international was the right addition to their squad.

A World Cup That Changed Everything

Saibari arrived in Germany following a spectacular 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with Morocco.

The midfielder scored in all three of Morocco's group-stage matches, finding the net against Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti as the Atlas Lions continued their impressive journey at the tournament.

His performances attracted significant attention across Europe and helped cement his reputation as one of Morocco's most exciting attacking talents.

From PSV to Bayern

Saibari leaves PSV having established himself as an important figure in Dutch football.

Across his time in Eindhoven, he recorded 42 goals and 29 assists and finished his final campaign by being named the Dutch league's Player of the Season.

Now, the 25-year-old faces the biggest challenge of his club career.

Waiting for the Bayern Debut

A thigh injury suffered during the World Cup delayed Saibari's competitive debut for Bayern.

The Moroccan has now returned to full team training, however, putting him increasingly close to making his first official appearance in Bayern colors.

A new club, a new challenge, and a style of football that perfectly matches his ambitions, the next chapter of Ismael Saibari's remarkable rise is ready to begin in Munich.
