Pellegrini Sets 70-Minute Limit on Abde’s Return to Full Fitness

Abde has returned strongly for Real Betis, but Manuel Pellegrini is taking a cautious approach to his recovery after a lengthy injury absence.

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli is gradually finding his rhythm again with Real Betis, but his return to full fitness is being carefully managed after a long spell away from regular competition.

The Moroccan winger recently made an important impact by scoring the winning goal in Betis’ 1–0 victory over Getafe, underlining the qualities he can bring when fully fit.

However, Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that the club is not prepared to rush his return.

A Careful Return After Four Months

The Chilean coach revealed that the player is currently limited to around 70 minutes per match as Betis manage his workload.

  • “Yes, without a doubt, it has been a long time, almost four months, since he was able to play regularly, and that is why we are limiting him to a maximum of 70 minutes,” Pellegrini explained.

The coach also underlined his importance to the team, describing him as “a very important player” capable of making a difference for Betis.

The Getafe Goal Provides a Major Boost

Despite the restrictions, the winger has already provided an important reminder of his attacking qualities.

His winning goal against Getafe gave Betis three valuable points and offered further evidence that he is gradually returning to his best level.

The goal also represented an important moment personally after a difficult period in which injury prevented him from maintaining regular competition.

Morocco Return Adds Another Step

The latest development also comes as the attacker returns to the Morocco national team setup.

His absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup was particularly difficult, as injury prevented him from taking part in one of the biggest tournaments of his career.

Now, his return to club football and subsequent selection for the Atlas Lions represent important milestones in his recovery.

Betis Are Taking No Risks

Pellegrini's comments underline the importance of patience during this stage.

The objective is not simply to increase his playing time as quickly as possible, but to gradually restore his physical condition without exposing him to another setback.

After such a lengthy absence, Betis are therefore taking a measured approach, allowing him to rebuild his rhythm while keeping his workload under control.

A Positive Path Back

There are already several encouraging signs.

A return to competitive football, a decisive goal against Getafe and a recall to the Moroccan national team have all provided reasons for optimism.

There is still work to do before he can consistently handle full matches, but the direction is positive.

For both Betis and Morocco, the priority now is clear: help the winger regain his full fitness step by step and ensure that his return becomes a lasting one.
