For Ayoub El Kaabi, a difficult new chapter has begun after the Morocco international underwent surgery following the serious injury he suffered against Volos on Saturday, September 5.
And in that difficult moment, Azzedine Ounahi was there.
The Panathinaïkós midfielder visited his fellow Atlas Lion to offer his support, reminding El Kaabi that he will not walk this road alone.
A Long Road Back
El Kaabi suffered the injury during Olympiakos’ meeting with Volos in the third round of the Greek Super League.
The Moroccan striker had started the match but was forced to leave the pitch following an incident involving the opposition goalkeeper. After receiving immediate medical attention, he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Further examinations confirmed the seriousness of the injury, eventually leading to surgery. His recovery is expected to keep him away from football for six to seven months.
The Atlas Lions Stand Together
For Olympiakos, the absence of one of its leading goalscorers is a major blow.
For Morocco, it is equally difficult. El Kaabi has become an important part of the Atlas Lions’ attacking force, bringing experience, movement and a proven eye for goal.
