Morocco's U23 national team is preparing for an important November challenge, with the Atlas Lion Cubs scheduled to face Ethiopia over two legs in the qualifying campaign for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has confirmed the dates and venues for both encounters, giving the young Moroccan side an opportunity to take another step towards continental qualification.

The first meeting will take place away from home on November 12, before Morocco welcome Ethiopia to Rabat for the return fixture five days later.

First Leg: Morocco Begin Their Campaign in Ethiopia

The opening encounter is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, at the Dire Dawa Stadium in Ethiopia.

Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM local time in Ethiopia (1:00 PM Moroccan time).

The match will be officiated by Malagasy referee Andriatsara Arnaud Zafimahatoha, assisted by compatriots Larenion Miladera and Ravoavy Hasinoro Fitiavana, according to the federation's announcement citing the Confederation of African Football.

Playing away from home presents an important early test for the Moroccan youngsters, who will aim to secure a positive result before returning to Morocco for the decisive second encounter.

Return Leg: Morocco Welcome Ethiopia in Rabat

The second leg will take place on Tuesday, November 17, at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM Moroccan time, with Nigerian referee Abubakar Abdallah appointed to oversee the encounter.

He will be assisted by fellow Nigerian officials Ahmed Tijani Mustapha and Tejiri Besmart Digbori.

Playing in front of their home supporters could provide the Atlas Lion Cubs with an important advantage as they look to complete the two-legged tie successfully.

A Crucial Opportunity for Morocco's Young Generation

The upcoming fixtures represent an important challenge for Morocco's U23 side as it continues its pursuit of continental qualification.

The two matches will test the team's ability to manage different conditions, maintain tactical discipline and deliver consistent performances across both legs.

For Morocco, developing the next generation of international players remains a major priority.

The U23 squad provides an important pathway towards the senior national team, offering young talents valuable experience in competitive African football.

Two matches, five days apart and one important objective: the Atlas Lion Cubs will be looking to overcome Ethiopia and keep their U23 AFCON ambitions alive.
