The next chapter of Morocco's international journey has officially begun.
The Atlas Lions arrived at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora on Monday, September 21, bringing together Mohamed Ouahbi's squad ahead of a busy international window.
The Moroccan Football Federation shared the first images of the players arriving at the national training centre, marking the beginning of preparations for three important fixtures.
It is also the first return to competitive international football for Morocco since their quarter-final appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Road to CAN 2027 Begins
Morocco's first assignment will come on Friday, September 25, when the Atlas Lions host Gabon at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The encounter will mark Morocco's opening match in the CAN 2027 qualifiers, giving Ouahbi's side the opportunity to begin the campaign on home soil.
The squad will then quickly turn its attention to another challenge.
Lesotho Await in South Africa
Just four days after facing Gabon, Morocco will travel to Bloemfontein, South Africa, for their second qualifying fixture.
The Atlas Lions will meet Lesotho on Tuesday, September 29, continuing their journey toward the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The short turnaround between the two matches will make preparation and squad management particularly important as the team begins a new qualifying campaign.
Ghana Complete a Busy International Window
The international gathering will continue beyond the two competitive fixtures.
Morocco will return to action on October 4, when they face Ghana in a friendly in Tangier.
The encounter will provide another opportunity for the coaching staff to assess the squad and give valuable minutes to players competing for places within the national team.
New Faces Join the Group
For this international window, Ouahbi selected a 29-man squad, with several new names earning their opportunity after impressive starts to the club season.
Among them is Yassir Zabiri, who has scored six goals for Racing Santander since the beginning of the campaign.
He is joined by Abdellah Ouazane, the Ajax attacking midfielder, Soufiane El-Faouzi of Schalke 04 and Tawfik Bentayeb, who recently found the net for Anderlecht.
Their inclusion reflects the continued emergence of Moroccan talent across European football and gives the coaching staff additional options during the international window.
