The Maghreb de Fès (MAS) are one step away from advancing in the CAF Champions League after producing an impressive 4-1 victory over Burkina Faso's Rahimo FC in the first leg.
The Fassis now travel to Ouagadougou for the return leg on Saturday, September 12, knowing that another strong performance would secure their progression to the next round.
A Strong Advantage for the Fassis
MAS dominated the first meeting in Morocco, scoring four goals to take a commanding advantage into the return fixture.
Adam Brika opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Soulaïman Allouch doubled the lead just before halftime. Rahimo pulled one goal back in the 60th minute, but MAS responded strongly through Devin Titus and Christopher Ibayi, who completed the 4-1 victory.
Now, the Moroccan champions will look to finish the job on the road.
When and Where to Watch
The return leg will be played at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Morocco time.
The match will be broadcast live on RTB Zénith, allowing Moroccan supporters to follow MAS as they chase another important step in their continental journey.
A Place in the Next Round Awaits
Should MAS complete their qualification, they will face the winner of the tie between ASC Kara of Togo and ASEC Mimosas of Côte d'Ivoire.
The first meeting between those two sides ended 1-1, leaving everything to play for in their return fixture.
Another Moroccan Club Awaits
Morocco's other representative in the Champions League, RS Berkane, received a bye into the second preliminary round.
The club will face the winner of the tie between Sierra Leone's Star Sports and Gambia's Medina United FC, with their first meeting ending goalless.
A Long-Awaited Return
The match represents another important chapter for MAS, who are returning to the CAF Champions League for the first time in 14 years.
Their last appearance came in 2012, when they were eliminated by Egyptian giants Zamalek in the second round.
MAS already have a proud continental history, having won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2011 and the CAF Super Cup in 2012.
Now, the Fassis have their sights set on writing another chapter.
With a three-goal advantage in their hands, MAS head to Ouagadougou with confidence, ambition, and a clear objective: finish the job and take another step toward continental glory.
