El Khannouss Starts as Stuttgart’s Difficult Bundesliga Opening Continues

Stuttgart have endured a difficult start to the Bundesliga season, with Bilal El Khannouss unable to prevent another defeat against Borussia Dortmund.

The beginning of the Bundesliga campaign has not gone according to plan for Stuttgart and their Moroccan star Bilal El Khannouss.

After four rounds of the German top flight, Stuttgart have managed just one victory alongside three defeats, leaving them searching for consistency at the start of a season in which they will be hoping to compete much higher up the table.

Their latest setback came at home against Borussia Dortmund, with the league leaders securing a narrow 1–0 victory.

Another Difficult Night for Stuttgart

Playing in front of their home supporters, Stuttgart were unable to find a way through Dortmund's defence.

The visitors' single goal was enough to decide the contest, leaving the hosts with another frustrating result after an already challenging opening to the campaign.

The defeat represents Stuttgart's third loss in four Bundesliga matches, a run that has quickly put pressure on the team to find a response.

El Khannouss Starts Again

The Moroccan international was trusted from the start and remained on the pitch until the 84th minute.

Although he could not produce the attacking contribution needed to change the result, the midfielder delivered a performance rated at 6.9, placing him slightly above the overall level of a difficult evening for the hosts.

He continued to look for opportunities between the lines and contribute to Stuttgart's attempts to build attacks, but Dortmund's defensive organisation made it difficult for the home side to create clear openings.

Stuttgart Searching for Their Rhythm

The result leaves Stuttgart with just three points after four matches, a position that does not reflect the ambitions normally associated with the club.

The team has traditionally aimed to compete in the upper reaches of the Bundesliga, making this early sequence particularly important.

There is still a long season ahead, but the need for a positive response is becoming increasingly clear.

A Challenge for El Khannouss

For the Moroccan midfielder, the difficult start also represents an important period in his development.

He remains a key creative presence for Stuttgart, and his ability to influence matches will be increasingly important as the team looks to recover from its early setbacks.

The quality of the individual performances will need to translate into more positive collective results if Stuttgart are to climb the table.

The Season Is Still Young

Four matches are only the beginning of a Bundesliga campaign, and Stuttgart still have plenty of opportunities to change the direction of their season.

For now, however, three defeats from four matches leave the club with work to do.

The next fixtures will provide an opportunity for the team to respond, while El Khannouss will look to build on his regular involvement and help Stuttgart rediscover the form that has previously taken them towards the higher positions of German football.

The difficult start has created an early challenge, but there is still plenty of time for Stuttgart and their Moroccan playmaker to turn the season around.
