Morocco once again made its presence felt on the international athletics stage as Soufiane El Bakkali finished second in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Diamond League meeting in Silesia, Poland, on Sunday.
El Bakkali crossed the finish line in 8:04.61, narrowly missing out on victory as Ethiopia's Gemechu Godana claimed first place in 8:02.74.
But the Moroccan presence on the podium did not end there.
A Moroccan Double on the Podium
Salah Eddine Ben Yazid produced an excellent performance to secure third place with a time of 8:05.82, giving Morocco two athletes among the top three finishers.
Another Moroccan, Mohamed Tindouft, also delivered a strong showing, finishing tenth in 8:12.20.
The performances underlined Morocco's continued strength in middle- and long-distance athletics, with the nation's leading runners competing confidently against the world's best.
El Bakkali Continues His Strong Season
El Bakkali arrived in Silesia with momentum already behind him after beginning his Diamond League campaign with victory at the Mohammed VI Meeting in Rabat.
The Moroccan star clocked 7:57.25 in Rabat, a world-leading mark at the time, immediately setting the tone for another ambitious season.
His second-place finish in Silesia now adds another podium to an already remarkable career.
Another Chapter in a Legendary Career
El Bakkali remains one of the defining figures of the 3,000m steeplechase, having built a remarkable collection of Olympic and world titles while consistently competing at the highest level of the Diamond League.
For Morocco, Sunday's result was another reminder of the extraordinary depth of its distance-running talent.
Two Moroccans on the podium, another elite performance from El Bakkali, and another proud night for Moroccan athletics on the global stage.
