Couhaib Driouech has officially opened a new chapter in his career.
The Moroccan winger made his Celta Vigo debut on Thursday night, coming off the bench in the Galician side’s 0-0 draw away to Real Sociedad in an early fixture from the sixth round of La Liga.
Starting the match among the substitutes, Driouech was introduced in the 69th minute, replacing Ferran Jutglà and immediately getting his first taste of competitive football with his new club.
A New Adventure Begins
Driouech’s debut came just days after completing his move from PSV Eindhoven, bringing an eventful summer to a close after his proposed transfer to Rangers failed to materialize.
Celta head coach Claudio Giráldez had already hinted that the Moroccan could feature at Anoeta, and the opportunity arrived sooner rather than later.
For Driouech, the wait was over.
His first appearance in the Celta squad quickly became his first official minutes in the famous blue-and-sky colours.
Energy, Movement and Commitment
Although the match remained goalless, Driouech brought energy and attacking intensity during his time on the pitch.
According to FotMob data provided by Opta, the Moroccan completed 12 of his 16 passes, successfully completed his only attempted dribble and contributed six defensive actions.
His determination was also evident in the intensity of his pressing and defensive work, although it earned him a yellow card in the 79th minute following a foul on Mikel Oyarzabal.
It was a brief but promising introduction to Spanish football.

Neither side could find the breakthrough during a tense finish at Anoeta, leaving Celta still searching for their first league victory of the campaign after four matches.
Their next opportunity arrives on Monday when they travel to face Getafe.
For Driouech, it represents another chance to continue settling into his new surroundings, build chemistry with his teammates and earn more minutes on the road ahead.
