Ayyoub Bouaddi could be set for an immediate Manchester City debut.
The 18-year-old Moroccan midfielder has arrived in Manchester in strong physical condition and is available for Friday's Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace, according to head coach Enzo Maresca.
Ready From Day One
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Maresca confirmed that Bouaddi has maintained his training routine with Lille and therefore arrives at City already physically prepared.
- "He is ready. He was training with his previous club, so he is in good physical condition," Maresca said.
The Italian coach will nevertheless allow the young midfielder the necessary time to adapt to his new teammates, surroundings, and the demands of his new club.
A Remarkable Rise at 18
Bouaddi arrives at Manchester City following a spectacular rise with Lille.
He became the club's youngest-ever player in 2023 at just 16 years old and made 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season, continuing to establish himself as one of Europe's most exciting young midfielders.
His rapid development also earned him a place in Morocco's senior national team, making his international debut in May before featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Bouaddi started five of Morocco's six matches during their memorable run to the quarterfinals, including the group-stage meeting with Brazil.
Maresca Praises His Maturity
Despite his age, Bouaddi has already impressed his new coach with his composure and maturity.
Maresca emphasized that the teenager does not appear like a typical 18-year-old, while stressing the importance of allowing him to develop naturally without placing unnecessary pressure on his shoulders.
- "He doesn't look 18 years old, he looks more mature," the City boss said.
The coach believes Bouaddi can contribute to Manchester City both immediately and over the long term, while recognizing that adapting to a new club will take time.

Manchester City have not officially disclosed the transfer fee, although British media reports have valued the deal at around €100 million.
