Morocco’s U20 national team return to action this Saturday, October 3, when the Atlas Cubs face Egypt in the fourth round of the UNAF U20 Tournament at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM Morocco time, with both sides entering the match with their qualification ambitions firmly in focus.
Morocco Build Momentum After Strong Start
After receiving a bye on the opening matchday, Morocco began their campaign against Tunisia on September 27.
The two sides played out a goalless draw, giving Ludovic Batelli’s team one point from their opening appearance.
Three days later, the Atlas Cubs produced a much stronger attacking display against Algeria, securing their first victory of the tournament with a 3–1 win.
Sami Bouhoudane, Mohamed Mounssef and Ilyas Hidaoui all found the net in the second half to complete an important comeback and give Morocco three valuable points.
A Key Battle at the Top
With four points from two matches, Morocco enter Saturday’s encounter knowing that another positive result would strengthen their position in the race for the tournament’s top two places.
The top two teams will qualify for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana, making every point particularly important as the competition enters its decisive stages.
The challenge, however, will be significant.
The Hosts Arrive With Six Points
Egypt have made a perfect start to their campaign.
The hosts opened the tournament with a 2–0 victory over Libya before defeating Tunisia 2–1 in their second match.
With six points from two games, the Egyptian side currently sit ahead of Morocco and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run on home soil.
The encounter therefore represents an important opportunity for the Atlas Cubs to close the gap and strengthen their position before the final matchday.
Where and When to Watch
The match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, with kick-off set for:
Date: Saturday, October 3
Time: 5:00 PM Morocco time
Venue: Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia
TV: Arryadia
The game will be broadcast live on Arryadia, the third Moroccan channel operated by SNRT.
One Final Match Awaits
Whatever happens against the hosts, Morocco will still have one final opportunity to collect points in the tournament.
The Atlas Cubs will face Libya on Tuesday, October 6, at Ismailia Stadium in their final fixture.
With qualification places on the line, Saturday’s meeting with the hosts could prove to be one of the defining moments of Morocco’s UNAF U20 campaign.
