A new chapter could be opening for Amine Harit at Olympique Marseille.

According to French newspaper L'Équipe, new head coach Bruno Génésio has informed the Moroccan international that he remains part of his plans for the upcoming season, potentially giving Harit another opportunity to establish himself at the French club.

A Fresh Start in Marseille

Harit's future at Marseille had appeared uncertain after he returned from a loan spell with Istanbul Başakşehir.

The Moroccan midfielder spent the previous campaign in Turkey, where he regained valuable rhythm and confidence, making 26 appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists.

Now back in Marseille, Harit has seemingly caught the attention of Génésio during pre-season.

Génésio Sees Versatility

According to L'Équipe, Génésio has started three of Harit's last four friendly matches, using him primarily on the right wing while allowing him greater freedom to move across the attacking areas.

The Marseille coach reportedly sees Harit as a player capable of contributing in several positions, including both wings and the space behind the striker.

That versatility could become an important asset as Marseille prepare for a demanding 2026-27 season.

A New Tactical Challenge

While Génésio appears convinced by Harit's technical qualities, the coach is reportedly looking for greater physical intensity from the Moroccan, particularly when operating from the wing.

The position requires constant movement and defensive work, adding another dimension to Harit's challenge as he looks to secure a regular role in the team.

For the Moroccan international, it represents an opportunity to combine his creativity and technical ability with the demands of Génésio's system.

A Different Picture From Last Season

Harit's situation now looks considerably more positive than it did under former Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi, whose plans did not regularly include the Moroccan.

That eventually contributed to Harit's move to Turkey on loan, where he was able to rediscover consistency and play a more prominent role.

His return to Marseille now comes with renewed possibilities.

Can Harit Write a New Chapter?

The early signs from pre-season are encouraging.

With Génésio seemingly ready to give him an important opportunity, Harit has the chance to turn a period of uncertainty into a fresh beginning at one of France's biggest clubs.

For Moroccan football supporters, the hope is simple: that this new Marseille chapter allows Harit to rediscover his best football, unleash his creativity, and once again show the qualities that have made him such an exciting talent.
